This 2 day, in person training course is aimed at equipping counsellors and social workers; working with children and/or parents.

Simoné will cover normal child sexual development, attachment with parents and understanding harmful sexual behaviours in children.

A big focus during this course will fall on practical intervention and implementation rather than on just the theory.

We will also look at some of the legislation which can assist socials workers and counsellors with intervention.

Simoné Oberholzer is a registered social worker, with specialization in Play Therapy (BSW; MSW) and she is currently busy with her Doctorate in Social work with a focus on harmful sexual behaviours. She has been in private practice for the past 5 years and is also a lecturer at Stellenbosch University, where she lectures on child protection.
