The Enneagram is a powerful tool for understanding personality types and can be used to help individuals identify their strengths and weaknesses, as well as their motivations and fears. The Enneagram is widely used in the field of psychology, counselling and personal development, and has gained popularity in recent years as a tool for improving relationships and communication.

“In order to grow, we need to know ourselves” – Adiela Akoo

“The Enneagram, a Personal Growth Course for Counsellors,” is designed to explore your own inner world, and to develop a deeper understanding of yourself. By doing so, you’ll be better equipped to help your clients, and you’ll be able to offer them the support and guidance that they need in order to work towards their own personal growth and transformation.

Basic Course Outline

The Narrative Tradition promotes an open exploration of each personality type through the interactive method of panel interviews, which brings the Enneagram to life through meaningful conversations and insights.

In this workshop you will be invited to:

  • Explore and discover your Enneagram Type, and find out what motivates the way you show up in the world.
  • Deep dive into each of the 9 different Types with regards to: basic proposition, motivation, focus of attention, emotional habit, strengths and relationship challenges.
  • Share experiences and learn from each other.

“To know yourself, you must sacrifice the illusion that you already do” – Vironika Tugaleva

If you are looking to expand your knowledge and skills in personal growth work, this two-day course may be just what you’re looking for.

As counsellors, we have a unique opportunity to help our clients navigate their inner worlds, and work towards personal growth and transformation. However, it’s important to remember that we can only help our clients to the extent that we have done our own inner work.

When we’ve done our own inner work, we are better equipped to hold space for our clients, to be present with them in their struggles, and to offer them the support and guidance that they need. We are more aware of our own biases and limitations and are less likely to project our own issues onto our clients.

By doing our own inner work, we can also model healthy behaviours and coping strategies for our clients. We can show them that it’s possible to work through difficult emotions and experiences in a healthy way, and we can offer them tools and techniques that we have found helpful in navigating our own journey.

At the same time, it’s important to remember that doing our own inner work is an ongoing process. It’s not something that you can check off your to-do- list and be done with. It requires a commitment to self-reflection, self-awareness, and personal growth.
