Dr Peter Schultz
Humanitas Lecturer and Senior Supervisor

As a Social Worker in private practice, Dr Peter is registered with the South African Council for Social Service Professions (SACSSP), the South African Association for Social Workers in Private Practice (SAASWIPP), and the Board of Healthcare Funders (BHF).
After retiring as a senior lecturer in Social Work from UNISA in 2019, he returned to private practice. During his eight years at UNISA, he obtained a PhD in Social Work, co-authored four academic articles, contributed to a textbook on Social Work, and was instrumental in the development of the Higher Certificate in Social Auxiliary Work. He remains actively involved in academia by supervising postgraduate students in Social Work and supporting them with coding and data analysis of transcripts for their research.
Dr Peter’s current work with Vita Nova and Humanitas, in collaboration with a dedicated team of colleagues, allows him to give back by sharing his extensive knowledge and experience. He is involved in teaching counsellors, developing material for short courses, and supervising Humanitas students. This work is both rewarding and stimulating, encouraging him to stay informed on the latest developments in the field of social sciences.
