Dr Louise Aucamp is a highly respected authority in the fields of child assessment, forensic social work, trauma intervention, and therapeutic support. With over 25 years of experience as a registered social worker, academic, and trainer, she has made a significant impact on child protection practice in South Africa through her evidence-informed, ethically grounded approach to complex cases.
Holding a PhD in Social Work and a Master’s in Play Therapy (Cum Laude), Dr Aucamp has developed and delivered over 40 accredited training programs, including CPD courses with the SACSSP and SACE, and postgraduate university modules at NQF level 9. Her work integrates the latest research in neurobiology, attachment theory, trauma, and child sexual abuse response, with a strong focus on developing practical, sustainable skills for professionals across disciplines.
She is the founder and director of FACT (Forensic Assessment Consultation Training) and the FACT Assessment and Therapy Centre in Pretoria, where she leads a team of professionals delivering psycho-legal, therapeutic, and assessment services. She has trained thousands of professionals across the country—including social workers, psychologists, SAPS FCS units, occupational therapists, educators, and NGOs—through her workshops, supervision groups, and tailored in-house programs.
She is also the founder of FACT Funda, an innovative CPD-accredited online learning platform designed to make continuing professional development more accessible to social workers. FACT Funda provides a wide range of resources for a low monthly fee and breaks down complex psychosocial and legal concepts into practical knowledge—translated into four official South African languages to ensure broader understanding and inclusion.
As a former lecturer at North-West University and guest lecturer at WITS, Dr Aucamp played a leading role in shaping postgraduate forensic social work training in South Africa. She is a published author in both academic journals and parent-focused publications, and continues to serve as a consultant and expert witness in complex forensic and custody matters.
Whether working with professionals, government departments, or civil society organizations, Dr Aucamp is committed to advancing child-centered, developmentally appropriate, and legally sound practices.
