Thank you so much for the course. It was insightful and I learnt a lot. As student it equipped me better to work at my current internship as well as next year when I enter the private practice sector. Thank you for the opportunity.

Thanks so much for the wonderful training – it was really superb! I am now in my new role as school counsellor and your worksheets have been so useful.

It was a great course. Very informative and I now feel better equipped to work with teenagers. I enjoyed getting little tips, sayings and worksheets to practically use in practice.

Thank you so much for all the ‘tools’ that you shared with us. I use them often and they work really well.

It was really well done for an online course and worth the cost.

In the professional setting of counsellors, social workers, psychologist, youth workers and pastors there seems to be a focus on equipping professionals to either work therapeutically with adults or with young children. But what about that in-between age group!? In our practice alone, we have seen a major increase in requests for counselling for teenagers. These; not-yet-adults, but-not-kids-anymore-either; age group is in desperate need of age appropriate intervention and assistance, and yet we have identified a huge lack in training or courses adequately equipping professionals in the field of working therapeutically with teenagers.

In this 2 day course, presented by Anschel Pieterson, social worker in private practice, and Alicia Coertze, specialist wellness counsellor with special focus on teens, various aspects with regards to working therapeutically with teenagers will be discussed and practical implementation thereof will be outlined.

What you can expect from this course:

  • Comprehensive Theory of Attachment; focusing on teenagers
  • A brief look at Childhood development with special focus on adolescent development
  • How to work with, and what to expect from teenagers in a counselling/therapeutic setting
  • How to build a solid and trusting relationship with a teenager
  • 55+ practically applicable tools to use with teenagers for different themes such as:
    • Stress
    • Anxiety
    • Depression
    • Anger
    • Self-Esteem
    • Loss & Grief

    • Exploration and MORE!
  • How to handle difficult situations like cutting and suicide
