What is H-Con?

H-Con 2026 is our very first Humanitas Conference for Mental Health Professionals, across diverse fields and formal occupations.

This one-day gathering was born from a deep desire to create a space where counsellors, social workers, psychologists, and other mental health professionals can connect, grow, and be inspired.

It is more than a conference – it is a gathering, a movement, a homecoming. H-Con is where we come together to connect, to network, to learn, to grow, to fill our cups, to be inspired, and simply to be.

Our Aim

Our Aim is to turn H-Con into an annual event to look  forward to!
Over the next five years, H-Con will explore the theme “Rooted In …” – each year focusing on a new value or principle that grounds us as professionals and as people.

Like the roots of a tree, these values anchor, nourish, and sustain us. They remind us of where we come from and strengthen us for where we are going.

Every H-Con will bring together thought leaders, practitioners, and voices from different corners of the mental health world. Through engaging talks, meaningful conversations, and authentic connections, our aim is to cultivate a community that grows deeper, stronger, and more connected with each passing year.

Guest Speakers For 2026

Why Begin with Gratitude

For our very first conference, we begin with Rooted in Gratitude.

Gratitude is more than a feeling, it is a way of seeing the world, a practice that transforms the way we live, work, and heal.

  • For counsellors and mental health professionals, gratitude sustains us in the difficult work, keeps us humble, and reminds us of the privilege of walking alongside others.
  • For our clients, gratitude opens a doorway to healing, resilience, and renewed perspective.

By rooting ourselves in gratitude, we begin this journey from a place of strength, hope, and possibility.

What to Expect

  • Inspiring guest speakers from a variety of fields, sharing wisdom, tools, and stories that touch both heart and mind.
  • A safe space to connect and network with like-minded professionals who understand the joys and challenges of this calling.
  • Moments to pause and breathe, because H-Con is not just about learning, but about restoring, refilling, and being reminded of why we do this work.
  • Seeds of new initiatives that we hope will grow from these gatherings -collaborations, projects, and opportunities that extend beyond the event itself.

Why You Shouldn’t Miss It

H-Con is designed to be the event of the year for mental health professionals in South Africa. It is a day of inspiration, reflection, networking and connection that you will carry with you long after the closing words.

This is your invitation to step into a space that is authentic, uplifting, and deeply grounding. A space where your journey matters, your work is honoured, and your presence is celebrated.

Join us at H-Con 2026: Rooted in Gratitude.

Let’s begin this journey together.
