Good day! My name is Chené van Rensburg, I have completed my Honours degree in Psychology and my Post Graduate Certificate in Education at the North West University. I’m currently a Humanitas counselling student and look forward to cooperatively engage with clients to achieve their goal and motivating self-actualization. Considering the words of Carl Rogers; “It is the client who knows what hurts, what direction to go, what problems are crucial, and what experience have been deeply buried”. As a result, my counselling approach is person-centred, which is whole-hearted, collaborative, and non-judgemental. I’m truly invested in human experiences as a whole, whether it is difficulties with relationships, attachment, development, trauma, crisis, addiction, and loss and grief (as these experiences are universal). I prioritize being with and being for the client’s needs to let them feel safe, understood, and as equal partners in the counselling process. Therefore, facilitating clients to understand how their thoughts, emotions, and behaviour are interrelated. Please note that asking for support is not a sign of weakness, its evidence of self-awareness, courage, and strength. I look forward to function in the wellness community and meeting you.
