Amina Imam Shah

Hi there.

My name is Amina Imam Shah and I am a Graduate at Humanitas Training Centre. I am a registered Specialist Wellness Counsellor with the ASCHP and registered Counsellor with the C4CSA. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Psychological Counselling (cum laude), a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) Senior Phase & FET (cum laude) and a Bachelor of Arts Honours in Psychology (cum laude). I am also a certified NBI (Neethling Brain Instrament) Practitioner. 

I am a determined, self motivated and hard working individual aspiring toward a Masters in Educational Psychology. It has always been my dream to work with, educate and help people overcome their challenges in the journey of life. I believe that, with the right support and guidance, no challenge is insurmountable. 

As a counsellor, I operate within the person-centered approach. This is a approach that is based on the belief that the client is inherently driven and has the resources and capacity to strive toward growth and self-actualization. The aim of this approach is to create a genuine, safe and nonjudgemental environment for the client to explore and process their thoughts, feelings and experiences.
